Filin 100mg Tablet works by relaxing and widening the muscles of the airways, thereby making it easier for asthma and COPD patients to breathe easily.

• It is very important to maintain hygiene, like washing hands after coming from outside, as people with asthma/COPD are at a greater risk of infections.
• Stay active and do regular exercise to improve quality of life and increase tolerance to shortness of breath.
• Do meditation, deep breathing, regular exercise, and try progressive muscle relaxation techniques to get relief from stress and reduce the risk of an asthma attack.
• The doctor may suggest some tests to know the root cause of the respiratory disorder, such a Spirometry (check the narrowing of bronchial tubes) and Peak flow (check how difficult it is to exhale).

Indication of Filin 100mg Tablet

It is indicated to relieve bronchospasm associated with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. 

Pharmacology

Filin 100 mg Tablet contains aminophylline, a combination of theophylline and ethylenediamine. Theophylline relaxes bronchial smooth muscles by increasing intracellular cAMP levels through inhibiting phosphodiesterase, antagonizing adenosine receptors, antagonizing prostaglandins, and affecting intracellular calcium.

Dosage & Administration of Filin 100mg Tablet

Interaction

Oral Administration:

• Chronic bronchospasm:
  • Adults: Initially 225-450 mg twice daily, may be increased if necessary.
  • Children (>3 years): As modified-release hydrate: 12 mg/kg daily, increased to 24 mg/kg daily in 2 divided doses after 1 week.

Contraindications

Filin 100 mg Tablet should not be used in patients who are allergic to xanthine or ethylenediamine. It is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcers due to its potential to increase the volume and acidity of gastric secretions.

Pregnancy & Lactation

The use of Filin 100 mg Tablet in pregnant women must be balanced with the risks of uncontrolled diseases. Consult your doctor for advice specific to your condition.

Precautions & Warnings

Use caution in patients with peptic ulcers, hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, arrhythmias, cardiovascular diseases, or epilepsy, as these conditions may worsen. Caution is also advised in patients with heart failure, liver dysfunction, chronic alcoholism, acute febrile illness, newborns, and the elderly, as these conditions may reduce the clearance rate of theophylline, leading to elevated serum concentrations.
